Bansheeb0y5505 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Hey everyone. I read that on a stock engine you can run 150-160 psi of compression safely on high-test. My dad's head is currently shaved .028 and hes looking for more power. On a fresh rebuild, it already makes around 130. How far can you shave the head safely? We want it at about 150psi Quote

Bansheeb0y5505 Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 get a cool head with some domes for that pressure idk about milling it and what elevation are you at with 130PSI Screw coolheads. No offense if you have one, but I hate them. If anything i'd buy a noss head. But we were trying to stay away from that. My dad has a machine shop and can mill it himself. It was at .028 when we bought it, and after reading around you can safely mill your head to get around 150psi. Just wondering how far we can mill it safely. I don't know exactly how high my elevation is. Im in NEPA and we live on a small mountain. We'd even be happy with 140. Just want some more go go juice. Quote

350BANSHEE350 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 i have heard that you cant go much more then that, you can but you must check your squish clearance first, thaats the clearance from the top of the piston to the dome of the head Quote
