hard pack tracks like the one I run, sturts suck when you get into a good bit of power. Im running a shaw this year and hooking alot harder

Much better and more controlled launch on the sand tracks I ride on.

IF you run a wheelie bar on sand, you HAVE to have one. If not, it'll hit the bar, squat the rear end, then all your holeshot momentum is gone. Most races are won at the tree and within the first 60 foot...:)

You also run less risk of bouncing, unloading tires, etc....

I ran my rear marvin @ 1500 PSI....it was fine for the track with no bar, once I put a bar on....strut was mandatory...

what are u riding on ?? for asphalt ,, a strut is a must.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. I run asphalt. So for me the wheelie bar is going to be very important.

Like mentioned above. A rear Marvin will do a lot of good for you if you choose no bar. Once I get my bike dialed in, I have a rear Marvin Shaw that I can throw on to try out some sand.
