Others will most certainly argue on this one. My honest opinion is that price vs. gain, no. You are better off to go with ported stock reed cages and some good aftermarket petals (about $100 cheaper if you have a builder do the cage mod). I however do plan on using a set on the dyno to rule out all doubt on this subject. That $100 you save would make a healthy down payment on a port job, which is no doubt a larger gain than the reeds.

I hear that. porting will be a must on my next top-end rebuild due to the stroker crank.

I love my VF3's

Never did anything to the stockers as far as porting or different reeds though, I just put them in the box the VForce came in and put them on a shelf.

Got mine for a steal - $198 OTD - well worth it imo.

Only time I really noticed a difference is on my 10mil cub I used to have. I run 3's on my black bike with the big square stuffers and run dual stage carbon fiber reeds on ported cages in my white back and don't notice a difference between the two when I switch them from bike to bike.

I run them and I must say it was the worst price for gain ratio of any other mod I've done (which are all bolt-ons). But at least they are there for when I do something else...
