I ride a lot of nasty trails in central Indiana. I keep breaking, or bending the thread on the outers. Someone told me tusk made some pretty good tire rod ends for the banshee but ive broke 2 in the past three months. My buddie rides a 400ex and has never had any tire rod or tire rod end issues. Could I make a complete 400ex set up work? Any other solutions?

Nope plenty of thread in. I dont adjust to yamaha specs or anything I just eye ball it and ride. Never been and issue with any other quad. I thought it may be to far out of spec so the last time I replaced the outers I put it in spec. Still broke one. Front end is stock.

There are some guys on here who make some custom ones I've seen. Run down to your local machine shop and ask them to make you a set with some hi-grade aluminum or chromoly or titanium. They will be pricy, but shouldn't break.

Ricky stator makes a great tie rod and end set. Its honda style and heavy duty. I work out 2 yamaha style sets in about three years. Ive had these new ones for about 2 now and they still have no slop. Great buy but pricy at 200.

ive seen a bloke on a raptor that got sick of breaking his so he got some solid inch or inch and a half square and made them fit and he hasnt broken them yet...broke a tie rod out of 1 of them but that was only because he hit a huge rock off the trail
