jerod187 Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 well despite all my posts im gonna send my engine to kevin Herr and get him to do a 4mm ported stock cylinders with a cool head, so i cant decivde if i should stick with stock ported cyl or get a stock cub, any suggestions? i only have about 1600-1800 to play with, i mainly ride like open trails or fields usually just open areas and im using toomey t5s with stock carbs for now Quote
jbooker82 Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 I would go stock cylinder 4 mill. When you step up to a cub you really should go with PWK35's, and a set of inframe drag pipes because the cub is a drag port out of the box. josh Quote

When you go cub, you need to upgrade the clutch, longer swinger, tranny mods, etc. too many people spend money getting HP out of the motor, but it's pointless without getting it to the ground or not being able to use it. Get a dune port...you'll be happier. Quote
jerod187 Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 ya arigtht thats what i was thinking for now 4mil with stock cylinders ported, and im getting a coolhead with like 20cc domes to, but not sure if i should upgrade my clutch yet or not. and while its apart would it be worthhile to do anything to the shiftstar and all thaT?? Guest utleybanshee Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 hell you could buy my motor for that price and sell yours and have money to upgrade the clutch and whatever else it is you would want to do i have a 421 cub by the way.. Quote
jerod187 Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 o really do you have pictures.. refs and how much do you want i might be interested.. how many hours on ti also? Quote
jerod187 Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 sorry i dont know to much about 421 what bore is that? and what kinda of pistons, crank are you using? and not that i dont trust you but can any other member spread some light on which would be a better choice? Quote
Guest utleybanshee Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 umm a couple of guys on here no me its a cub motor 68mm pistons 4mm stroker crank Quote
00tbanshee Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 no offense utley but i would just have kev do you a motor jerod and go with a dune port.they are very dependable and you will have everything fresh.for the type of riding you do it would fit you best.plus to sell you stock cylinders your not going to get hardly anything for them.for the clutch i would run one of jeff's clutch's from F.A.S.T.and you can have your shifter star turned down.you could save some money and do that yourself.the stock carbs would work fine but could gain a couple more hp with some bigger ones.you will be very happy!
