mdhc500 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 One of these. Dude, where can I get one? I totally need one now! Also on this topic what are the temps you can see the pipes get right where they attach to the motor? After a warmup off idle I was seeing temps in the high 200's low 300's with a laser thermometer... Quote
gregrob Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 There's this also. Goes in your coolant hose. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_ATV-Parts-...p3756.m20.l1116 Quote
rtcc Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 There was a thread awhile back about this one too. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku Anybody running it? and liking it? Quote

Got one on mine, wouldn't run without it. Here is a thread with pictures of the cap installed. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...p;hl=weird+find Quote
jbooker82 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I run the ESR one on my Raptor. It is a good unit. On my banshee I just have a trail tech vapor. It has an engine temp with warning lights. Quote
pittss1c Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I get my temp from a trailtech.. but sometimes I wish I didn't know. I have a cooling problem. I am going to try something with a fan and battery to see if it helps. Quote
Keyser Soze Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 I love my CRJ temp gauge. Digital, and right in front of you http://www.jokersracing.com/content-popup_...opup_image.html Quote
gregrob Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 While we're on the subject, has anyone used one of these? Thinking about trying it. I know it's just a little heat extractor but every little bit helps, right? http://www.jokersracing.com/content-produc...er_modquad.html Quote
jbooker82 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 They really dont work. I do keep on on hand incase I blow a hose. They work great at splicing the hoses back to gether. I would buy a half gallon of engine Ice Before I would buy one of those. Quote
gregrob Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Did you run one with a temp gauge? No difference at all? Quote
jbooker82 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 No I never ran won with a gauge. You can try one if you want. There just isnt enough surface area to dissapate heat to make a noticable difference. The fins are thick so they wont dissapate heat as well. When you put it in the lower rad hose it is sitting between 2 hot exhaust pipes so there isnt much cooling that is going to take place. If you had a lathe you could make one your self. Quote
Snopczynski Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Pyro temps in the pipes are 1250 degrees when jetted correctly. I cant check the outside, my pipes are ceramic coated. Quote
gregrob Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Who makes a display that will read egt's, water temp along with all the other stuff. Like the trail tech Vapor, but it doesn't do egts Quote
