1987 banshee fmf fatty gold series, pc2 silencers, boysen reeds stock cages, timing plate +4, k&n filter, 93octane, 15 tooth sprocket frnt, 41tooth back, should my top speed be around 85-90>?

1.76hp! Gonna need to know tire size, but probably 11mph on the top speed.

With those mods, you'd be lucky to be at 40 HP.

Here's a calculator for your speed. regardless of how much HP your motor has, or the mods done, it can only go as fast as the RPMs it can turn, the tire size, and gearing.

http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm

If that motor will spin to 9500 and PULL all of 6th gear, it will do 90 MPH.

If that motor is not ported, it will not pull a 15 tooth front sprocket, 10 paddle tires all the way through 6th gear...

With that setup in sand, probably 80 MPH is all you'll hit...if you can find a distance long enough, flat enough and straight enough.

Ilike the new pics Dave, I was going to ask if you had any closer shots of that thing, looks good!

For the dunes, absolutely, especially at Silver Lake.

If you're gonna ride hard pack trails that are wide open with long straights, it may pull that 15 tooth all the way through 6th, hard to say....

drag...thank you. Lot of hard work, and moreso money into this baby...and worth every penny to me. :)

ooohhh, you might hit 13mph. Better make sure your colossal valve is clean first though.

Make sure when you do your stator plate to set the clearance on the pickup coil. The clearance should be 0.020" between the pickup and the raised blocks on the flywheel. Too far out and it won't run very good if at all, too close and it'll hit the flywheel ruining your coil.

whoa tough guy lol (edit : the thread starter)

you need to pull the flywheel to adjust the timing. just loosen the three 10 mm bolts holding the plate to the case, and rotate the plate. tighten down and voila

your fucking retarted

No, you are for asking this question. I saw on the first page, someone managed to get your hp number nailed down within a 20hp window (40-50's hp range) There is no way you would need to know, or would benefit by knowing what you asked. Only reason you did it, is cause youyr going to tell someone what it is, or your trying to figure out if you can beat someone who is telling you what theirs is. :thanks:
