bronco91shee Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 what is so great about these? are these steels and carbon fiber? cuz if thats all it is you can buy them from rocky mountain for less with steel and carbon fiber....just curious, thats all.... Quote
dajogejr Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 Heavy duty steels, street bike fibers and HD springs. You won't get this kit from RMATV, or any other online retailer. You'd have to get parts from a dealer or other shop that stocks these parts. They last, they hold up to big HP machines...and if you're looking to save a few bucks on a component as important as your clutch, then it's it's probably not for you.... I know several people that have run the cheapo tusk clutch from RMATV and had good luck. I believe in you get what you pay for. Quote
2bzy2p Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I smoked the F.A.S.T clutch after one season of riding(BUT THAT WAS MY FAULT!) then I replaced it with another F.A.S.T pack which means my back up is depleated so I will be headed to jeffs to buy me another F.A.S.T pack!! bottom line for what the items are you can not buy each individually as a pack for cheaper. bronco91shee Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 THANKS GUYS, I GUESS I WILL GET TO ORDERING ONE WHEN MY NEXT PAYCHECK COMES IN. CUZ THIS WHOLE SLIPPING CLUTCH IS ANNOYING Quote
BB3 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 However...it actually put me closer to Kevin's spec for the slingshot. With the old clutch setup, it was about .040 to .045 clearance for the slingshot. His spec is .070. I'm at .082 right now, which he said is fine. My paper work for the slingshot says .060 clearence? dajogejr Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 Hmmm...do you have the "lite" version? Mine is from the end of last year, is yours older or newer?? I'm 100% positive when I talked to him on the phone two Friday's ago he said .070....he also said you can go up to .100. Quote
BB3 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 No i dont have the light version i have the undercover one. Just got it today. Quote
dajogejr Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 That could be the reason...mine fits under a normal, extended lockup cover Quote
