deerekillr Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Hey all, I'm new here and hoping to get some help. I bought a basket case banshee last fall and have basically finished assembling it accept for a few parts including the exhaust that I dont even have yet and dont even know which exhaust would be right for the engine and dont just want to shoot for T5's. So heres what i've got. The top end is freshly bored .020 over stock and is ported by "Krank It", I dont know who that is but its etched into the jugs! Its got a cool head with 18degree domes, v-force reeds and valves, and a Graydon 2 into 1 intake with a 35mm keihin carb. I dont know the jetting but will probably need help with that down the road. I'll be mainly open trail riding, no racing, nothing like that, and I live in mid-state NY way up in the mountains. I'd appreciate any help! james Quote
Animalman294 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 The T-5's actually sound like a good choice.............. Quote
jharader Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Nothing wrong with a good o'le fatty  good all around pipe and way overlooked in my opinion, cheap to Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Fatty's are for sure a cheap upgrade but your not going to get as much of a power gain as T-5's T-5 are a good all around pipe. Also if you dont ever plan on getting port work the T-6 are not a bad choice as well, how ever the T-5 will respnd better to portwork if you ever get any done Quote
Snopczynski Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Your best option for matching up your porting to your exhaust is to pull the head and measure the exhaust port window height (top of port to cylinder deck). Report back and I can get your duration and let you know what pipe will work best for what you want to do. Quote

He doesn't know what type or by who though. He just knows that "Krank It" is carved into the jugs. Do you know what compression you are running with 18 domes and the port work? Quote
deerekillr Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 Thanks for the input guys! Dinner, I bought the bike from an old racer who used to run an mx style circuit around PA. I really have no idea what the compression might be and that was actually going to be my next post to see if I need to go to a larger cc dome to avoid running race gas. I cant seem to track down any shops the carve "Krank It" into there jugs either to find out what kind of port work was done.... Snopcynski, I'll get that window measured and report back. The cyls are at the shop sitting in the sandblast cabinet right now. james Quote
