Does it have any mods done to it? pipes, airbox lid, jetting, elevation? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 you have to have it choked to start it or to run it you have to have it choked? to start it thats fine, if running you have to have it choked your jetting is wrong Quote
98basketbanshee Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 you might have dirt in the carb also check your air filter make sure its clean Quote
cbarown Posted March 23, 2008 Author Report Posted March 23, 2008 you might have dirt in the carb also check your air filter make sure its clean It does not have any mods done to it no exhuast no after makrket air box nothing. But the guy i bought it from said something about it having summer jets in it, he said if it is colder then 40 it will run like crap. now where i live its still in the 30's so do think this could be true or is the guy a donkey. He also gave me a bag of 4 jets they range between 190 and 240 Quote
Dinner Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 Sounds to me like the pilot is off, or you air screw is off as well. If you are having to pull the choke out half way for it to run right on the bottom end, that points to running lean does it not? Pulling the choke out half way stops XX amount of air coming into the cylinders. Soo if pulling the choke out helps the bike run (which pulling the choke out will richen the mixture) then I would say you are running lean on the bottom...IMO Quote

cbarown Posted March 23, 2008 Author Report Posted March 23, 2008 Now would running the wrong size jets in that cause that problem? I was just ridding it in my yard and ripped it down the road it has become much more responsive. howevre if i stop and then try to take of in first it just wants to die unless i rev it up a good amount then sometimes it still wants to die So in all when i just start off it bogs and wants to die if i give it a good amount of throtel and feather the clutch a little bit it hesitates and then finally goes.
