chevyeatr Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 I am in the process of doing the lighting upgrade with a battery on my banshee. I am also looking nto install a cooling fan on the radiator to help engine to run cooler. Has anybody ever installed a cooling fan before? The fan i have will be to big to put on back side of radiator because it will hit the steering stem so i will have to put it on the outside and push air through the radiator rather than pull the air.Would this cool the engine enough to be worth the trouble of installing it?Any info would be appreciated .Thanks Quote

Snopczynski Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 A cooling fan running and lights running at the same time off a battery is going to over capacitate the charging system. I have put batteries in a banshee before. I wouldn't waste my time with a fan. Its gonna be ugly as hell too. Just get a torch works radiator. You would have to be riding your banshee in hell for it to get hot enough to need a fan. Quote
shanYE west Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 not to mention the fan would only be usefull if the machine wasn't moving or moving fast enough to get air through the radiator.. (who rides a banshee slow anyway?) Lighting upgrades isn't a bad idea if you ride at night and what not but I dont think I'd look into adding a fan. Like snop said, Get a after market radiator and a billet impellar and you'll be more then set in the cooling department. 1 Quote

jamebo Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I remember seeing a small add in one of my Quad magazines awhile back, had a picture of a Banshee with a fan on the front of the radiator. They were advertising it as a kit, if I remember right. I just looked through a couple of them but couldn't find it, I have a large assortment of different mags and it would probably take quite awhile to find it. (needle in the haystack) It seems like it was called Banshee cooling solutions, or something like that. You may be able to google it and get some ideas about a fan, or buy it if interested. I didn't really check it out too much at the time because it looked strange with the fan in front of the shroud. Quote
jamebo Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I found it, it is banshee cooling solutions, they say it works off a stock stator and keeps it 20 degrees cooler. Kind of a strange looking setup, don't know how well it would work. Quote
inthemail Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 thats as ugly as oprah's ass.... this is all you will need brotha! and i gave ya a link to a great guys parts page with a nice coolhead too, power AND cooling! Temp stickies CoolJuice Billet impellar -not a necessity, but it will never melt Clutch gasket - you need this if you replace that impellar Cool Head that sould save you alot of bad karma friend! Animalman294 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 That does look pretty funny. I would think that someone could take the radiator cover and make an extended shroud that would move the radiator cover straight out in front of the existing position, which would allow clearance for the fan and look like a stock grill.
