Banshee lighting & cooling upgrades.
chevyeatr replied to chevyeatr's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Sweet, I guess that means that I'm the only person on here that has ever done the electrical upgrade or ever thought about installing a cooling fan on a banshee.WOW -
I checked my blaster and suzuki lt 250 and they were both at 115 to 120. Then i checked my banshee and both sides showed 80lbs. I,m going to see if i can get another tester and try that. I do have some resistance on the kicker but it always kicked very easily compared to my other bikes. I'm just thinking it might be wiser and less expensive to leave it home.I dont want to blow the top end and run chunks of piston through my crank .

I just checked the compression on my banshee and it has 80 lbs on both sides. The engine is a 4mm stroker crank, Stock cylinders, stock head. I know the compression is low but the bike starts on the 1st or 2nd kick every time and runs like a striped ass ape. I am going to dumont for easter and was going to leave the banshee home but that would kill the trip. With compression that low is it possible that the bike is ready to blow? or could i get another ride in before the rebuild. Just trying to get opinions from other banshee riders. Thanks

I am in the process of doing the lighting upgrade with a battery on my banshee. I am also looking nto install a cooling fan on the radiator to help engine to run cooler. Has anybody ever installed a cooling fan before? The fan i have will be to big to put on back side of radiator because it will hit the steering stem so i will have to put it on the outside and push air through the radiator rather than pull the air.Would this cool the engine enough to be worth the trouble of installing it?Any info would be appreciated .Thanks

Hi, I have this 89 banshee that i am trying to sell. I just spent $600 rebuilding the top end and the first ride out we blew a hole in the right side piston. The cylinders were not damaged at all. The engine is stock and has a 2-1 carb , CPI pipes, Nerf bars,Nice sand stars front and back. I am selling the bike needing new piston & rings and with out the plastics. I was asking $1500. Is this to much? or what. I have 2 other banshees that are both stroked and i smoke 4pokes all day, And now everybody that calls me about my bike acts like i'm asking way too much. I told 1 guy i would give it to him for $1200 and he acted like i was trying to rip him off. What gives? Maybe all of us with banshees need to get togather at the dunes and destroy all the 4pokes we can and then people would understand. if i'm asking to much let me know, if not whats the deal.

Is it a 4mill or 10 mill stroker?
chevyeatr replied to chevyeatr's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I was just told the motor was originally a trinity 400 motor but bike blew and tore up the cylinders and thats why the stockers were put on it.As for the 2in1 set up, The bike has a dead spot in the throttle right before hitting the power band and i was told that this would give me more low end. -
I purchased another banshee that has a stroker motor from a friend . He is telling me that it is a 10mill stroker but i'm not sure. The bike has stock cylinders and head on it still. Is it possible to run a 10 mill stroker crank with stock top end ?? . Or is there a way that i can tell what crank is in it. I just purchased a stage 4 2-1 carb kit and was trying to figuire out where to start on the jetting but need to know what stroke the bike is first. Any help would be very much appreciated Thanks

Fullbores are gone . Thanks for looking

I'm in las vegas,nv 89121

Yah, I know that i am getting ripped but its for my sons bike and he likes the stock plastics more than the fullbores.
-
Yes, I do have front and rear fenders. I am looking to trade for front , rear, and tank. I would also prefer full fenders that are uncut. Thanks
-
i have a set of fullbore plastics that i'm trying to trade for some yellow or black stockers. They are red and in great shape.
-
No, Sorry I'm looking for black or yellow so it goes with my color scheme that i'm using
-
I have a nice set of red fullbores that i would like to trade for a nice set of stock banshee plastics in black or yellow.

The banshee is stock other than the 2 into 1 carb set up. The reason i asked about the heads is because the head that was on the bike originally had a deeper dish than the 1 i put back on the bike when i rebuilt it. So i'm wandering if that had something to do with it blowing up?Anyways thanks for the info guys , I'm gonna pull the engine and completly go through it so maybe i will just get a cool head for it.

Hi all, I blew my banshee up thanksgiving weekend at dumont and was wandering if i could get some help? I burned holes in the top of both pistons. The top end was just rebuilt and only had 1 tank through it. Also are all the stock cylinder heads the same?
