Dinner Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I was going to say, it is not the fault of the Plastics that your screws and bolts are working their way loose. Just shows that the bolts/screws you are running now are wore out, probably don't have much thread left on them. On all the bolts, hell even a lock washer should do the trick. I don't even run loctite or lock washers on all my bolts and screws for my plastics and they don't come loose. Just putting it out there, don't go bashing something (aka the plastics) when they have nothing to do with the vibration and loosening of the hardware... Quote
tgbanshee Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 blue loctite FTW. I used that stuff on damn near every screw, nut, and bolt on my bike. Quote
twostrokemechanic Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 yea its not the plastic's fault. but i bought some maier plastics once and just wanted to say .... they would be compared to a old washed up hooker. ya only need them if ya dont have anything else lol. and they look like hell before and after ya use em. plus just like the hooker ...if ya had something turning 8,000-12,000 rpm in between your legs, you would probably have sum nuts and bolts coming loose too!! but back to subject ...keep your bolts tight and if ya going for looks get some new oem yamaha plastic its the best!! at least in my opinion. i seen some one industries plastic it looked good too.
