GOTT0311 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Ok I bought those lights off of ebay that are 50w and was wondering if the stator could handle it and what would happen if I put them on with out changing stators or bulbs. Thanks for your help Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 If you still have the stock stator, and you run the 50W lights, the lights will be very dim, and the bulbs will probably burn out very fast, and you can possibly burn up your stator. The stock stator can only handle two 35W lights. You need to get a higher watt stator, if you want to run them. Quote
GOTT0311 Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 It won't effect my power will it??? and can you buy 35w bulbs for these if so where Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 It won't effect my power will it???and can you buy 35w bulbs for these if so where Affect what power? I don't have any idea whether, or not, you can buy 35W bulbs for those lights. That's a question for whoever sold them to you. Quote
RadarRacing Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 They are more than likely standard halogen replacement bulbs. Pull one out and go to a larger auto parts strore they should have em. 2x50 watt lights wont work. Quote
Ruko Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 I've had 50 watt lights on mine for the last 3 years... I haven't had any problems... they may not be as bright as they should be but they are still brighter than the stock lights. Quote
2001Stroker Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 I have the little 2" diameter Trail Tech lights on my bike. They came with the 50w bulbs. If these are the lights that you have, here's a fix. Home Depot or Lowes has the 35w bulbs for those housings. The track lights, that mount on the ceiling of a house, use 120volt AC current, but those fixtures internally converts the power to 12volt DC current. They sell replacement bulbs for those track lights, which are the same size and have the same plug, as on the Trail Tech lights. That's what did on mine, and they are alot brighter than the stock Banshee lights. And, in my opinion, they look better, too. They sell those replacement bulbs for like $6-7. I can't find them online, but they do have them in stores. They look just like this one, but are 35w. The one here is only 20w. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores...uctId=100009329 Quote
