endofitall9 Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Alright guys My buddy is building a 4 mil stroker long rod and he got all his gaskets and the 795 pistons. well it turns out that our shitty bike shop out here didnt order the right gasket kit, instead of the base plate for the stroker he got the head gasket for the stroker and he is running a coolhead. He called the bike shop back and he said that if your running the 795 pistons you didn't need to run the plate..anyone have any info on this or is this guy just blowin smoke up his ass? Quote
okbeast Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I'm confused, do you mean run the base gasket, or is it a spacer plate? Quote
endofitall9 Posted February 25, 2008 Author Report Posted February 25, 2008 No, I was just asking if your going to run a 4 mill stroker with the 795 pistons do you need a spacer plate. but ive been searching and is says you need aplate even with the 795 pistons.. Quote
okbeast Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Yes you will, unless the porting has been changed for the extra stroke. Quote
RZBansheeMan Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Wrong, it needs to be set up properly with "4 mil stroker porting" and " 4mil stroker domes" for the cool head. Avoid using the gay spacer plates. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 the plate will makeup for the new stroke but the port timings will not be right on. scrap the plate and get the jugs ported for a 4mil not only do you have less surface areas that can leak but your motor will have more power. get the type of porting for your riding style Quote
man27 Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Have a set of domes cut and have your cylinders ported for the stroker...NO SPACERPLATE.... RZ BANSHEEMAN is wright.... Quote
endofitall9 Posted February 26, 2008 Author Report Posted February 26, 2008 its not my motor its a buddys. His cylinders have already been ported and the builder that did his cylinders said it should run fine with the new 4 mil.. Me personally i would get the domes but he said he he would rather use to the plate cause he has a shitload of domes... Quote

He will not need to run the spacerplate,He's been ported, He will have to cut the domes only if he's running a longrod!!!!!! Quote
CombatTalon2 Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 He will not need to run the spacerplate,He's been ported, He will have to cut the domes only if he's running a longrod!!!!!! It's either domes cut, or run the spacer...... running the longrod only means he needs to run the 795 series pistons. The Extra 2mm higher stroke requires the domes cut or the spacer plate! Quote
