So what do you guys usually use to dis-mount/mount your tires onto your rims? Called a guy at the local bike shop and he said it has to be done by hand because there are very few places that have tire machines small enough for the banshee rims. And for $20/tire, I can do that myself with a set of tire spoons. Or was that guy full of BS? Thanks

My local Les Schwab does them for $8 a wheel. Old one off, new one on. I have done them by hand, but it is a bit of work to break the bead.

Man, i dont know how you would break the bead on a stocker without a bead breaker. I swear they glue those damn things on. I have a small manual bead breaker that I made years ago. works pretty good. If you dont have a breaker, id pay somebody.

I use my hydraulic press at work...let all the air out and then slowly push on the tire. Once I have the beads broke I take two pry bars and take the tire off the rim. Also do it this way for vehicle tires...

Well, my friend has been calling around and has been able to find someone do it for $10/wheel. He was told also that the bead was the hardest part. I think the $10 was just to remove it though. I guess the guy use to do motorcycle wheels and has a smaller tire machine. I have 2 sets (8) wheels total I am going to be powder coating so after I get them off I don't want to beat them all up using pry bars. If I do it myself I was just going to start up the backhoe and use the arm to break the beads. I don't think the backhoe will have a problem with that.

walmart will do atv rims for like $7 a pop. mount/dismount. I think the last set I had mounted was $15 to dismount, and remount the new ones and dispose of the old tires. watch out if you have the fancy thin douglas rims or anything, they might ding them up. The set I was talking about above were stock rims and they did them just fine.
