ok guys ive been searchin for the answers to these questions with no luck maybe you can help me. I have to pull my motor so i'm lookin to get some more power my question is how much difference is there between a dune ported motor and a 4 mill? Is it really worth all the extra money? Also if i do go with the 4 mill would i be able to keep the pipes and stuff i have now? I might try to get t5's at a later time. Also would i have to replace the carbs with a 4 mill? Or should i look into some aftermarket cylinders? like maybe cheetas? they are cheaper than the 4 mill kit.if i went with the cheetas what else would i need besides the cylinders themselves? thats all i can think of right now thanks in advance guys.Tom

Yep, I agree...dune ported 4 mil. Make sure whomever is going to port them knows you intend on putting a 4 mil crank, and have them cut either your stock head or get a cool head with stroker domes to top the package off.

Dune ported 4 mil is a BIG step up from what you have now...and your pipes will work just fine. T5s down the road, no big deal...but don't be concerned with that right now....the 6's will work just fine.

What kind of power jump am I looking at if I install a 4mill stroker with my aggressive trail port. And can I still run my DMC 916's. And I have the 2-1 trinity 35mm carb. would I need to change that?

thanks for the replies guys. what about if i went with the aftermarket cylinder route with a stock stroke how would that compare to a dune ported 4 mill? also if i did go with the aftermarket cyinders could i use my carbs and pipes?

It really depends on if you want a "drag" motor or a "recreational" play motor, your T6's are not gonna perform the best with cubs and stock stroke. I think you would be best off having your cylinders "dune" ported with a 4 mil, and then down the road if you decide you want more, get a set of 4 mil cubs. Just my opinion.

Tell you what...before I answer that...do you have 2500 to 4 K to do an aftermarket cylinder build?

Not trying to be a smart ass...but if you're gonna do it, why do it half ass?

Carbs, pipes, cylinders, head, clutch, tranny, swingarm...shock. That ought to get you started thinking in the right direction....

well i dont WANT to spend that much so i'll go back to my little dream world of either a dune port or a 4 mil thanks guys.

Honestly, you have two shees with bolt ons only. A dune ported 4 mil stroker motor would probably make you mess your drawers first time out. I'd go that route first...then get your need for speed on if that's your cup of tea!!

A 4mill dune ported stock cyl set up, with 35's and drag pipes would

be a darn good engine and fun as hell to ride.

how much money do you have to spend on this, and how much money are you willing to put into it?

what do you do with your bike mostly?

most of the time it is just ridden at the dunes about 70 percent duning and 30 race or shootin hills but i occasionally take it out here by my house lots of open areas so when i ride its usually a fast paced ride not to many tight trails. i have about 1000 to 1500 throw down at it.
