1stwarrior95 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 I'm a Banshee newb and a friend of a friend works at a bank... Anyway, I'm wondering how much to bid on a shee rolling chassis. I don't know much about it so it's gonna be a shot in the dark, but I figured if anybody could give me some ideas this would be the place to find out. What I know about it; Year unknown. Probably late 90's at the oldest. More than likely 02, 03? All blue plastic Not sure if it has a motor or not. Supposed to have the bottom end but I can't see it from where it's sitting. (Sitting in storage, but it's in the back of the building. Building has a big glass window....) Anyway, if ya have an idea for a bid post it up. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 i wouldnt bid on anything i couldnt see. get some pics or at least look for yourself. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Location? Different parts of the country tend to have higher/lower prices. My guess would be 500-800. Quote
gettingfaster Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 I just got a repo banshee 2 weeks ago......... 2003 banshee, bone stock. All I had to do was replace the chain and get new tires. I drained all the gas out and put fresh gas in and new plugs. Sits and idles all day long. Any how It looked rough from sitting out in the elements. I bid 800 on it and they wanted 2000 for it. Called back and said they would take 1000 for it. So I got a running shee for 1000. I cleaned it up and it looks good now. I wouldnt bid on anything until you got to look at it. If it isnt running I wouldnt offer more than 600. Quote
1stwarrior95 Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 I hear ya on needing to see it guys. I have seen it a little, but it sitting in an old building, (that's also for sale...another repo maybe? dunno), that the bank uses for it's repo stuff. It has a big window at the front but the she sits at the very back. The front plastic is off of it and sitting in front of it so it blocks the view to see if the bottom end of the motor is there or not. It's about a 70 mile drive one way so I haven't been back yet. I think I'll try to contact the bank and see if I can arrange to get a closer look at it. Thanks for the replies. Keep 'em comin! I'll update if I can get a look at it. Quote
inthemail Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 tell the bank your thinking a grand with a motor..... sounds low but if you go and theres no motor? 750. its in the back for a reason.... they probley havent been able to ever sell it for what they want, someone coming along with an offer all of a sudden might be the ticket. colby72olds Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 a buddy of mine, blindly bidded on a 2000 for $300 and won it. these 2 guys were riding on it, running from the cops and they crashed into a tree, took off running. All it did was bend one of the a-arms. Quote
gettingfaster Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Ya that is how I got mine. It sat up for a while. They wanted 2k for it but I offered 800. When they said 1k I was all over it. I got a running banshee for 1K. Quote
