[email protected] Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 And whos going to make some of them ( if worth it ) for a banshee. Quote
91tsiawd Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 I could easily make something like that, but don't really see what the gains are. Quote
87_shee Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 They act like a skidplate for your sprocket I guess is the way to put it....better ground clearance than a traditional skidplate....Unfortunatley they don't make them for a banshee that i know of...i tried a few different companys and had no luck. shee4speed Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 that looks like it may help the chain from falling off,but it could hurt you if some gravel got in ther and couldn't come out the sides. Quote
[email protected] Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 cool custom skid plates. Quote

That may help protect the Sprocket, but i'd be more concerned with the brake rotor. Quote
MILO Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 I could easily make something like that, but don't really see what the gains are. well, it does look kind of cool and it would be something to add to your list of mods. but i think that the normal skid plate under the sprocket is sufficient and would still protect it better. the stock pos skid has gotten jammed into my rotor and chain b4, but not my dg skid. and for you light weight junkies, that would just be more weight to have to turn and make you lose your drag race, lol. KaosBanshee44 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 I don't know to many times when a chain comes off but that's just me, if you set the tension right on the chain you won't have anything to worry about. Quote
shanYE west Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Its a "skid Plate" its meant to protect the sprocket from logs, rocks, shit like that.. Polaris uses them on their quads last I knew.. but I havn't looked at them in a long while so they might have changed.. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 any machine shop could make those pretty easily. Quote
csrmel Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 to me that looks like a rail designed to keep the chain on when you have an extended swinger and are not using a chain block and rollers. seems like it might be beneficial for drag quads. they have those long ass swingers and the chains usually whip around becuase its so damn long.
