cvbadass Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 (edited) I need some advice, so where better to go? I have an 06 banshee with...toomey t6 pipes - k&n no lid - advanced timing plate - boysen power reeds. I have a birthday coming and want to add some more, I ride with alot of 450's, we race and ride trails. right now everyone is really close in speed until extreme top end, that belongs to me at 84mph. I am not the lightest person at 255, and I also am not as experienced of a rider as some of the guys i ride wtih. I need the most bang for my buck!! What are the best mods that i can do next for under $500? Any and all advie is appreciated!! Edited February 14, 2008 by cvbadass Quote

cvbadass Posted February 14, 2008 Author Report Posted February 14, 2008 Trail/woods port and a Noss head I saw a stock head that was shaved, how would that compare to a cool head? Quote
inthemail Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 ok. i change my mind, keep your motor for now since your already faster. go with a set of arms up front and flip your rear rims! Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 for power go with porting hands down, but keep inmind your suspension is in a dire need of some TLC. unfortunatly your not going to get much of a suspension for 500 bones Quote

I am faster in the long run, but the problem is they all know this and want to race shorter distances. is a shaved/milled head as good as a cool head for the money? Quote

Get a Noss cool-head, an then save for some a-arms shocks an axel, or at least thats what I would do. Quote
CFM Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 For the type of rining you do, maybe you should go for the +2 instead.. let me know or call me.. Quote

I wasn't sure what to go with, if i need alonger chain and brake line i will take that also Quote
Washburn Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 If your just playing around in fields racing in straight lines and doing little rabbit jumps go for a good woods port job and a hone with new rings, shave your head .030 and get a cheap Ricky Stator timing plate and advance it +4 degrese. Then for shorter distance racing drop down a tooth on your front sprocket. If you are doing any woods/track riding whatsoever do yourself a big favor and get some used +2+1 A Arms and some Works suspension (a Timing plate is only 35 and milling your head is only like 30 dollars and it will greatly improve your power and you can still use 93 octane). Upgrading the front end will make you faster on the trails or track and it will keep all of your power to the ground way more than the shitty stock front end the banshee has. You have to figure the 450 front end setup is already 20 years ahead of the Banshee. Quote

I am getting a really good deal on a vitos hemi head and some wiseco super stock pistons, has anyone ever used this? I was told that with this upgrade I would have a huge increase all around. My banshee is only 9 months old and i am wondering if i should wait on the pistons until i need to rebuild the top?My banshee does 84mph now and they say i should do an easy 90mph when done, what do you guys think? Quote
sinisterboo Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 he said he has toomey t6's, why you guys telling him to port it? i have read other posts saying t6 suck on ported motors! from the same guys sayin port it! not trying to start crap, just confused. Quote
