gregrob Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 I dont have a place by me to buy anything over 91.. does the octaine booster work? As a general rule, no. Some octane boosters advertise they "increase octane up to 6 points*" If you look on the back next to the little star * they say in a round about way that their way of defining a POINT is actually 1/10 of an octane point. So I guess if you used 10 times as much as they say, it would do what it advertises, or use 1/10 as much gas to put it in LOL. I'd stay away from it because, how can you be sure? Quote
Fireroad Express Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 if octane booster worked, we wouldn't need race fuel. i'd love to be able to pay $5 for a can of booster than have to pay $80 for a 5gal can of race fuel. performance costs money, theres no way around it. Quote
pasedogg Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 im a pretty simple atv owner.i never even really looked into this so im askin now while its in topic.where do u get race fuel, and what do u change on ur bike the minimum for it to take it. i know some bikes take alcohol, and other bikes take other shit, just wanderin what they are and where all u guys get it, i just have normal gas stations around here, thats why i never really looked into it. gumby6t9 Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 The only octane booster that I have ever heard good reviews of is the Kemco brand. Made by Kemco oil co. Their website is down right now or I would post a link. Quote

ziegman Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Only octane booster that works is octane supreme 130. Do a google search on it. Contains tetraethyl lead and actually DOES increase the octane as described. Its what I use and I am pushing 181 psi. Quote
