kawiking Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 im in the works of getting a 4 mill cub from F.A.S.T....... hopefully 39 carbs and duneoveride. this bike is mostly drag/fun.. i have a set of drag ported stockers right now (with carbs and pipes).. i spin my 9 paddle tripple buffs haulers pretty good off the line in 2nd.. but it pulls good after that. i was woundering if i can gear up and maybe still run these paddles... what would u run... these are for sand bars and little sahara.. i'll have pro wedges for dirt/sand track--hopefully. BigRed350x Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Id try a 10 paddle. It will come off the line harder and you should have enough power the extra paddle shouldn't drag too much up on top. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I am having no problem blowing 11 extreams off on my 4 mill! I think I am gonna go with a 13 or 14 extream this year. Quote
2bzy2p Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I run a 73in roll out 12 paddle extreme and it works well at the dunes with a 10 ever arm. Quote

bigboybanshee Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I guess the real questions are, do you plan to be drag racing this bike only, and are you going to run a wheelie bar or just a long swingarm if you do? Answering those will help decide on what tire you'll need for the best kind of traction. I ran 14 paddle extremes with a 72" RO last year and I would spin them real bad off the line and they'd finally start hooking by 3rd gear. I just picked up a set of 14 paddle extremes staggered, 78" RO for the 4mil on nitrous, and the 10mil later on...These bastards should get the job done  Quote
kawiking Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 damn travis.. i like those. my bike is more play/drag.... we have a dirt/sand track here.. but its not always open and i work six days aweek. we do drag race on the sand bars. i have a +6 swingarm. i know on the sand i need it to spin some because im comung out in 2nd.. i spin the 9 paddles off the start , but it feels like it hooks good after that. im still running stock gearing. bigboybanshee Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I think some 10 paddle extremes would be great for you then  Quote
dajogejr Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Add into the equation gearing, air pressure and how quick/hard your lockup actually "locks up"...and it's a helluva ride. If you're gonna run 300 foot drags, try 16/45 gearing. If you're gonna run dunes, 16/44 or 15/45...generally the races last longer... On my 10 mil I still have a little gear left with 16/44....on 300 foot, launching in 2nd. About 4PSI seems to be the magic number for our tracks. Most of us run 72 to 74 inch rollout... Hope that helps!! Quote

kawiking Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 travis.. im running those 9 paddle haulers sls on my drag-stock cyln, im going to get a 4 -cub from jeff.. hoprfully dune override and some 39 pwk's....... u think a 10 extreme will do. should i even mess with trying to find them in a tripple buff. im not going to put a lock up on this year. i do have a 15 tooth here at the house im probably going to slap on.
