LS1Inferno Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 From what i've been told J-arms eat ball joints. You could just make some with replacable ball joints. you can get them cheap at parts stors and like So-Cal Im going to be making some A-Arms real soon Quote
r_flagel222 Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 thanks for the info..... i am planing on using heims fittings on the end of the j arms to be able to adjust camber for different tracks. i am pretty good with a welder when i gota be. i am wondering if anyone has made the switch from j to a arms? I know that people have switch from j arms to a arms but I don't know of anyone that has gone the other way, j arms are weaker, I would try to find a different approach to installing your sway-bar. Dark Ranger Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 I started out with a J-Arm frame and upgraded to an A-Arm frame because the J-Arms do not provide the same level of stability and strength that A-Arms do. I would find a different way to mount your sway bar. I doubt you'll be happy with J-Arms. Especially after the first time you bump into something and end up having to replace the arm. Quote
87_shee Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 I have also switched to A arms from J arms and I doubt you want those for racing, You could probably make them work but from my experience with them they are JUNK. Quote

Post some pics of how you had it mounted, maybe someone will have a better idea. Is your bar wider than the distance between your wheels?? Quote

Is your bar wider than the distance between your wheels?? i have a from lowering bar it moves the shock almost straight up and down.. by doing this it makes the shocks the same width as the bar and there is no way to put it on... as of now i have it moubted way up high on the stock shock mounts with the arms sticking forward. the a-arms have tabs welded on them. i have picks but dont know how to resize and they wont post in the size they are... help and i will post them..
