norcalrhino Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 (edited) After running vitos setup i lost a piston first trip out, I was riding at elev. of 4500 feet when this happen. Not sure what caused it still. Anyways before the piston problem here is what my setup i was running. I live at 100 feet sea. level, ride alot at 4500 to 5500 ft. would like to know jet size for both Superstock .020 Forged pisions, K&N clamp on carb. air cleaners with outwears, CPI Small bore in-frames pipe, timing +6, hemi head with 19cc domes, run 104 oct. Toomey tors. elem kit, Stock Carbs with vitos jet kit jk350p -340 main, 30 pilot, with needle on 3 clip. boyesen reeds and reed spacers. 40:1 REDLINE MIX ratio. I didn't do a leak down before tear down, noticed i had 2 very small leaks on the carb idle screw and top of the throttle cap. nothing major though, also noticed i was low on water when this happen, Leans Mean HELP HELP Edited February 3, 2008 by norcalrhino Quote
shee4speed Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Something def. leaned that out. I am going to say air leak. Not sure of the idle screws causing this but sounds like a problem if they leak. Make sure no piston got in the lower bearing. That just happened to my kids Blaster and had to split the case to clean up the mess. Good luck! Quote
