Sprocket sizes, help.

I have some bullshit sprockets that are getting chewed up so I want to order some new ones from Krause and a chain. For a 421 cub, +6 swinger and I weigh 275lbs. Mostly ridden in dunes and trailriding locally.

well stock gearing is 14/41

If your gears are getting chewed up they are prob aluminum..

get steel sprockets, they are more durable..

I have a +2 swingarm, when i bought my chain i bought it long and just cut it to size, I think i got 110 bc 104 is stock..

Just order it long with a chain cutter and you'll be kool..Dont kno if this helps you any

What is the chain length for a +6 swingarm?

go with primary drive sprockets from rmatv. they have been good on my 4mm and 10mm motors. they are cheap and last a long time.

They consist of steel front sprockets, thats what I had and it didnt last long at all, it looked like a ninja star after 4 dune trips, lol.

this might be kinda off topic, but i have been using the search option and just want more opinions before i install my new rear sproket... i talked to a guy a trinity racing and he told me to go with a 42 rear sproket and he said it will tear ass... im running a stock 14 front sproket.. i have a few tire sizes but i like my 18s in the rear... but also have 20s... i know that having a 42 in the rear will give me more power but sacrifice my top end (by not much) so my question is if i should return my 42 rear sproket and get a 41 tooth (stay stock)... or another size?

for stock gearing and a +6 your looking at around 124 links.

 

regardless what size sproket you get make sure you get steel as mentioned above.

I have a 421 cub, +4 swinger with 21x12x8-9P extremes and I like a 14-40 combo for all around dooning. Very much taller gearing and its too hard to launch in second for drag racing, and any lower, like 13T front, and 1rst gear is too low for some of the tight Oregon doon twisty trail hill climbs thought the trees, second is too fast in the really tight spots. I have the primary drive gold O-ring chain and steel sprockets and my chain and sprockets have lasted quite a few dune trips with a few more left. Ususally when the sprockets are wearing out really fast it is a sign that the chain is shot. Worn out sprockets will help a new chain wear out faster too.
