Yea im not sure if you should ditch the plastic piece or not but it just slips right over the jet for sure...

There is alittle brass spacer that goes inbetween the carb and jet...

they are splash guards and should be there

the are not ment to be under the main jet you just screw the main in and slide it over top all the way down

But they will not stay there. they just barely hold onto these jets. they are smaller around than the 280's i had on them. before.

You don't have to use the splash guards, imo. I've ran a few sets of stock carbs without them....and aftermarket carbs don't have them either.

the main jet doesn't hold it on there anyway, like the others said it just slips over the main. i agree though that once the carb bowl is back on, they won't go anywhere. it should be fine.

Ok. I just put them back on the way the're suposed to be. After looking at it again, It does look like the bowls will help keep it on. Thanks guys
