Hi all, I'm having issues removing my front hubs & rear axle. I'm unable to remove the hubs, the nuts are off but it will not budge. Same deal in the back, the 2 axle nuts are off & the chain carrier removed but the axle won't budge.

Also, how much of a pain is it to change the shift star? I'd like to do the modded shift star from fast, but it looks kind of buried in there. Thanks

to remove the front hubs, the calipers need to be off. hold the hub in one hand, and gently tap the end of the spindle with a hammer. they should pop right off. the axle may need some persuasion. spray penetrating oil down inside the carrier while the axle is standing up in a corner. you should be able to tap the carrier with a hammer and it will slide off.sometimes.

I'm not sure abut the front spindles but for the rear axle get a piece of hard wood and hold it against the end of the axle and hammer on that with a Minny sleghammer they get rusted in place sometimes. the shift star is easy take your clutch cover off. take your clutch basket off and pull your shifting mechanism out then the star will be sitting right there all you have to do is take the center screw out and put the new one back on and reassemble.

Yeah good luck on that Rear axle I had to heat mine a while back and then Hammer it out Use a 4X4 piece of wood on the end of the axle. And Make sure you use Lock-Tite 242 on the Screw and torque it in with 6-8 Ft-lbs I've seen what can happen if you don't its not pretty!
