wacko2000 Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) Loco prob is running straight pods.. They are two seperate filters that mount directly to the carbs, eliminating the airbox, they also sell outerwears that cover them.. Usually people who riding in smud and water dont use them... As for the airbox, there are 2 metal pieces on the frame in the front of the airbox, if you cut them off it makes removing the airbox, or just removing the carbs alot easier, you will have some more play.... These are the pods, check them out... I just ordered a set from "theshee" on here, he has good prices... I tried posting a link for you to check out some pods, but it wont work, do a search and you'll see what Im talkin about... Edited January 26, 2008 by wacko2000 Quote
jbooker82 Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Most people run 6in. That is what I run. They also make them angled flang so you can move them away from the hot exhaust. I use a cascade heat wrap on the LH stinger tube so I dont melt an outerwear. 20 deg angle was to much for my setup. I run a 10 deg angled pods. I run a boss racing intake. It has replaceable rubber mikuni flanges, and has a built in crossover tube. It also moves the carbs up so LH one doesnt hit on the clutch arm. Quote
BansheeKid15 Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I would just run pods. I dune ride alot, and maybe ride trails/mx twice a year. So its alot easier just to swap the airbox back on if you know your going to hit some mud/water. I believe they make pods from 4" to 8". 8" are usually for aftermarket carbs. I bought a set from "theshee" for the stock carbs.. and i think those are 6". Some one correct me if im wrong. If you do decide to run pods... dont forget to rejet your bike... more air without the box  Quote
