NitroTate Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 I know it's frustrating but try to be patient, we've all had this happen to us... Mine is torn apart right now and I'm sure I might have some issue like this too when the time comes...LOL Quote
yamaha04 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 (edited) you float is stuck duming out fual as fast as it can go in so she wont start like that. give your carb bowls a few taks with the end of a screw driver if that doesnt stop the overflow drainage then you need to take the carbs back off and clean the float valve or whatever its called. take the bowl off take that little pin out that holds the float and take that little valve thing out and clean it with some air or brake clean then reassemble and try that should work. shovelhead Posted January 22, 2008 Author Report Posted January 22, 2008 Let me just ask a dumb question ? If I got spark to plugs does this mean that Tors system is working? or Exactly how does the tors system keep the bike from running? It does sound like carbs, since plugs are not wet & floor is!!.. I dont know Quote

I dont know Never messed with TORS but as far as I know it's a rev limiter, not sure if it has the ability to stop it from firing or not... Yamaha04 is probably right though, your floats are hanging up somehow Quote

yamaha04 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 forsure its your carbs tors is throttle, overide ,system. if your one slide is stuck or you throttle gets suck it will shut the bike down and you will have no spark. they aperantly cuase alot of problems. your system is probaly working good since you have spark. just clean them bowls and make sure the floats move up and down freely and your set but try taking the carb bowl first sometimes it sticks after you tear it down and it just takes a tap to get it moving again Quote

bagged93chevy Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Yes for sure do not use any starting fluid....the guy I bought my bike from used it and it fried my reeds(I think) that is the only thing me and my mechanic can think of why the reeds were covered in a black flaky shit. Im in the same boat as you got to ride my shee for one day then it wouldnt idle or run for shit....turned out the be the right side piston skirt! So 1 day of riding $2200 for the shee, plus $250 for labor and $259.90 for parts. Oh yeah my rear axle bearing was about to sieze too. Check those carbs or just give 'em some love taps with a good 'ol screw driver and if that dont fix 'em tear 'em down and clean them bisches! Sorry didnt mean to thread jack just feel your pain!!
