Okay, so i wanted to put in my VF3s the other day and was going to stick them onto the stock carb boots. Found that the two rubber post things on the ends of the carb boot actually fitting into the stock reed cages doesnt fit into the VF3s. The VF3s have oval holes and not a rectangular cut outs for these boots. Is this normal or are aftermarket boots needed? And should/could i just cut the raised rubber edges off the carb boots to bolt up the VF3s???

Here is what i am talking about on the carb boots, the raised rubber parts on each end

And the picture is a little dark, but these are the VF3s and the hole in them is an oval shape which doesnt fit up obviously!!

The bolt pattern for the holes are right but dont fit together, let me know if these are the wrong reeds or whats going on!!!

Thanks Fellas

ya those rubber tabs have to come off for it to mount up flush like its supposed to, when I put v-force reeds on my blaster I had to do the same thing, mine came with a little instruction card that says to cut the tabs off, I used a mini hack saw an it worked fine, when you cut thought try to make it even so it will mount up better.

I just installed the ones that I bought. They give you two washers and nuts that fit the intake bolts for a makeshift jig to hacksaw the tabs off. All you really have to do is cut them flush with the rest of the flat face of the intake. Pretty easy install.
