pepehaha Posted January 1, 2008 Author Report Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) Yes, thanks. By the way, how much hp does have stock banshee and how much could I expect with V force 3 reeds, t5's, ported cylinders, timing plate +4 degrees and kn air filtering solution? Thanks Edited January 1, 2008 by pepehaha Quote
pepehaha Posted January 1, 2008 Author Report Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) I found that stock banshee is about 37hp. How much hp could be with the mods above? Thanks edit: Jeff from FAST wrote me that with that mods and his dune/play poort it would be 60+hp I really didn't expect that much.. Edited January 1, 2008 by pepehaha Quote
ziegman Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 As far as the air filter set up is concerned. I purchased dual k&n filters, a pro design plate and foam filter, a k&n filter and plate for the stock air box ect ect. The absolute best set up I have found is the stock air box with the k&n filter with plate and a k&n lid. This flows just like the dual k&n pods and gives protection from mud and water. Plus you get double the filtration of a dual pod setup and your intake stays lenghtened with this setup instead of shortened as with the dual pods. This helps get rid of the dead spot off idle that my bike had with the dual setup. Its more pricey but well worth it in my opinion. Quote
STINKYDELUXE Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 you could save money by goin with a +4 degree key instead of a plate. you wouldnt want to run any more than that with that setup anyway I dont guess on power but I ran almost the same setup (but I had 380) and it was a night and day difference, vary quick Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 id steer away from the keys, yes they are cheaper but they tend to shear off. spend the few bucks more and do it right Quote

06BaNsHeE Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 You can get a timing plate for 35$. Quote
pepehaha Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 I've already ordered a timing plate for 35$ off ebay. That is small enought price... Quote
pepehaha Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 (edited) I found this nice set of shocks and a arms on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Elka-Shocks...bayphotohosting What do you think about it? I found that its long travel - 14inches of travel! WoW! Does it raise the front of the bike? If so, how much, and is it good or bad for riding? And what about the price? Do you have some photos of banshee with long travel shocks? And they seem like quad springs, are they? Thanks! Edited January 3, 2008 by pepehaha Quote
zach45 Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 that front end is my dream.... but i was told a good set of arms with good shocks are enuf for the avg rider... i run the ASR +3 +1 arms fully adjustable with yfz450 arms... bike rides nice for the time untill i get $ to get better shocks... get the g force axle from Rm for 199.99 shipped..if u wanna widen the back.. cant beat that at all... Quote
pepehaha Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 (edited) But is it better than standart travel? It's great that they are quad springs... But the long travel is it better than standart travel? Does it raise the front of the bike and if so its good or bad? Thanks Btw about the rear axle its no prroblem, they are cheap and easy to choose..but shocks.. And what about the aarms? They are just +2 not +2+1, is that allright? Do you have some photos of banshee with long travel shocks? And they seem like quad springs, are they? Thanks! unless your doing desert racing there is not reason to do long travel. If you have the money to spend thats your desicion to make, but there are commonly too many poeple that assume becasue it costs the most its better. It all depends on what kind of riding you do, and if your even hardcore enough to even need a particular setup. Yes Elka Tripple rates with remotes are nice but, for the average rider hitting the dunes or just playing around with freinds your just spending alot of extra money to not even use them to thier potential. pepehaha Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 (edited) I ride all arounds, sometimes mx sometimes trails etc.. but no dunes... But the price isn't that bad is it? When standart travel shocks without compression adjust is about 750$, and they are dual rate. These are quadrate, long travel, with compression adjust and a arms for 1700$... while Laeger Long Travel Front End A-arms Yamaha Banshee costs 870$ off ebay... The question is are they all way better for everything, or are the worse for some type of terrain? Thx Edited January 3, 2008 by pepehaha Quote
zach45 Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 its better but as stated above its a waste... +2 means 2 wider +2+1 means 2 wider and 1 foward... Quote
pepehaha Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 (edited) Yes I know, but I've heard that if i will aply +2+1a arms I will have to buy shorter swingarm - more money. With just +2wide I can ceep the stock swing arm right? Btw when I have the price 1700$ - 850$(a arms)=850$ for the shocks. Thats pretty good price isn' it? I think It's better investition than like 1300$ for standard travel setup, dualrate. I thing that shocks are extremely important for a good ride aren't they? I just bought set of chrome T5's w/ silencers used good shape for 250$. I saved 300$, it's better to invest them for great shocks instead of new pipes. Am I right? All advices welcome because Iam still a newbie Thanks! edit: Btw any pics welcome! I haven't found any pics of long travel shocks on a shee... Edited January 3, 2008 by pepehaha Quote
