sheerider1026 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 i have a 2003 yamaha bansheek&n intake sst pipes jetted 280 and currently have 105 and 112 on left and right cylinders. what should they be at? i think with a stock head they have around 118-125 range when they are new.. rule of thumb is anything under 100 is not good. i have seen many run for a long time with 90 , but it just depends on oil and ratio, jetting, blah blah blah. get what i am saying? hope this helps. i usually run them untill the power drops, or they get hard to start, then bore it and enjoy Quote
Handyman Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Yup you're close to the time for a new top end. I rebuilt mine at 100psi.. 120-135 is about normal Quote
bansh-man Posted December 6, 2007 Author Report Posted December 6, 2007 Yup you're close to the time for a new top end. I rebuilt mine at 100psi.. 120-135 is about normal right now im running neck and neck with the yfz's, when i up my compression, u think i will have a betters chance? Quote
TJ10 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 It depends on your elevation. If you were around 3000-4000' that would be normal. I think St. Louis is around 500' so you should be in the 125-130 range. Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 If 105 and 112 are accurate, that is about 6.5% difference between the two cylinders. I would keep an eye on that also, for they should be close to one another. I do not recall the limit, so hopefully someone else can post it... Quote
