Cory9584 Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 chrome paint never comes out good. depending on what your doing you should either polish it or have it chrome dipped Quote
theshee Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 If its done right chrome paint looks damn near like chrome. Quote
chevy7398 Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 i have chrome paint for lexan for use in my airbrush, looks crazy real but its also really expensive Quote
530grafix Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 (edited) i have used mirrachrome and house of kolors kosmic chrome, both are very high end chrome paints. they both need to be applied over a polished black surface, then sprayed with mirrachrome or kosmic chrome, then cleared. my point is that any of the chrome paints that are out there that are worth a crap should not be used on a daily driver due to the lack of adhesion. but they both do look incredible! KaosBanshee44 Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 I would rather just get it done the right way and not have to worry about anything. Now if it was something that i didn't mind getting messed up than i would use that but not anything on my banshee...lol Quote
csrmel Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 for about $100 you can buy an eastwood powdercoating kit. find an old oven that someone is throwing out during a remodeling of their house and you have an instant powdercoating oven. with powdercoating, you can do some reallynice fake chrome, copper, as well as the usual powdercoating colours. TexasBansheeMan Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Any more info on this SPRAY crome? Quote
rabbit857 Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 The house of kolor mirror chrome looks better over silver than black in my opinion. You can still see a little bit of the metallic flakes if you really look at it but I have tried it over silver and think it looks better. The black looks kind of brownish yellow versus the silver which looks cleaner. Gotta let it dry at least 24hrs plus before a coat of clear or it will get a metallic base look to it instead of chrome. After all its just a super fine metallic. Found it to work best with about 2 to 3 light coats at most. Sata mini jet 4. Ive only used it on small grachics and parts. Looks good just not quite chrome when next to it but not bad. Quote
