dajogejr Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Why are you not using some sort of surfactent in there in the summer? Take your engineering hat off and explain to me what surfactent means.... Is that even a word? LOL... Water is what we ALL run around here. If you pop an oring, you can do more damage to your head by sucking coolant than you can sucking water. Quote

Just use the root words... surf - act - ent surf = of the sea action = a thing done enter = to go into surfactent = put salt water in your radiator! Quote
dajogejr Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 I was just playin with Mark.... Water straight out the tap works fine...alky runs cool enough, water does the job fine!! Plus..any asphalt tracks won't let you run antifreeze, it's straight water only I'm pretty sure, depending on how picky they are for tech inspection. Quote

Surfactants, also known as tensides, are wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and lower the interfacial tension between two liquids. (I copied than from Wikipedia. It should be also noted that I spell surfactant wrong in my previous post.) :geek: Quote

Minkia38 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Why are you not using some sort of surfactent in there in the summer? Just a word of warning, I also used the Home depot / Lowes clear hoses with nylon strings, and they worked great for about 3 years. Then, the shee must have got a little hot, becuase one line blew all over my leg, and burned me a little bit. Needless to say, they got replaced with the ALBA ones. Quote
