I figured i'd try out the tusk clutch kit with the heavy duty springs, just to see how they work, anyone use them in they're shee? but i was wonder is i see on here where people use just half the heavy duty springs, and the other half stock? what does this do? any tips would be great! thanks in advance guys! Bansh-eman Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Half and half just makes it a little ezer to pull the lever. I have heard some good and some bad stories from tusk clutches. I have never used one though so I can Quote
burleybanshee Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Ran a tusk in mine with the springs. Love it, I abuse it and it doing great. IF you do run the springs, run all of them. The pull is not bad and the tusk springs are not as heeavy as barnetts or other brands. Those I would run half and half, but run all the tusks, and it will be same pull as half and half of another brand. For the price you can't beat it. Quote

Dave I. Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I think thats the same fibers Jeff farm and sand toys uses in his clutch kit. I have Jeff's clutch kit and it has been holding up well for about 9-10 months. I had it with my bolt on motor and now using it with my cub. Dave Quote

JdiZzla Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 you should have asked him why alot of drag racers run them if they dont work.yup its the same thing I just put some mods on my quad and now when the clutch is under really high stress, like when i shoot the hill, it slipps just a little. would putting the fzr fibers in help this. Also what exactly would i need to do that? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 (edited) you can probly just put stiffer springs and that will fix your problem. the fzr fibers ar just strong fibers that wont burn up as ez, and will grip the steels better Edited November 13, 2007 by Bansh-eman Quote
dajogejr Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 3 solid seasons on Jeff's clutch, Street bike fibers, HD Barnett Steels and Barnett HD springs. 05 on my stocker with bolt ons, 06 with my 4 mil cub on gas and all this year on my 10 mil on alky.... I'm replacing it for 08 just because I think it's earned the right to retire...and I'm freshening up the rest of the motor over the winter. Make sure you get an EZ Pull lever and perch, too...makes a HUGE difference in the pull... Quote
