imgoodatwhatido Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 if i were to change my exhaust from toomeyt5's to a moto-fast 2-1 exhaust what will i gain an what will i loose...im wanting to make this banshee a trail-track bike an want PLENTY of grunt down low...right now im running a 40 over bored motor with a hemi head with 20cc domes, stock reed cages with fmf petals, pro design timing plate set @ +4 degrees, with a pair of stock carbs with a pro design proflow intake with a big K&N with the airbox removed and looking to possibly go to a 2-1 carbs setup as well ...im thinking the 2-1 pipe will make more low end torque than the toomeys but im not sure so please give me some insight as to what im gonna be dealing with Quote
Snopczynski Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Didn't you post this in jetting and exhaust already? Your not getting a whole lot of answers, cause there is only a handful of us on here that know about 2 into 1 pipes. Quote
HardIzZlE Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 i think with a 2-1 pipe you will gain low end power & lose mid-top end power Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 keep the t5's. the banshee wasnt meant to have one carb or one pipe. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Your never going to have a torque monster, and the 2 into 1 pipes will really hurt you on the open sections. The T5s should be plenty fast for trails, they are probably the most popular all around pipes out there. I would think about doing some suspension mods to help you out if your not happy, and make the sure the bike is jetted properly. Also, definately do the +4 timing, and depending on what kind of trails your running, you might want to oepen up the air box more. Quote
DSSA Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 With the 2-into-1 pipe, I gained little low-end, next-to-nothing mid, and lost a lot of top end. It's *ALMOST* worth it for the sound alone, but not quite. Quote
Snopczynski Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 If you want alot of torque, run the pro circuits. It has the most torque of any bolt on pre-made pipe. We have done some dyno testing on it recently, and I recently switched to them from a dynoport 2 into 1 pipe. It makes a lot of wheelie pulling power down low and through the midrange. Quote
