I love riding mine. The only thing id say a cub wouldnt be good for is really tight trails. But if you only used it once in a while for tight trails I think it would still be ok. If I would have listened to the nay sayers and not got my cub I would be kicking myself in the nuts. So much fun to ride.

How do you like the stock stroke cub?Have you compared it to a 4mill?I was thinking about buying a stock stroke cub for a play bike but think a 4mill will be better because more low-end power

My stock stroke runs good. its not a 421 and never will be but from what Im told, a 392 should only be a couple tenths off of a 421 when built equally. Now in a timed drag race with lights, 2 tenths is a lot. When you are at the dunes or just screwing around a couple tenths of a second isnt as big of a deal since most of the time no one ever launches at exactly the same time. From what I gather its a riders race and having the right setup. But in all reality a 421 should always have the edge. If a guy has a 421 weighs 250lbs and the guy on the stock stroke weighs 150, well...there goes 421guys lead right there.......there are way too many variables....build what you can afford and ride it like you stole it....

I've had a stock stroke, 4mm and a 10mm cub. The 10 is definitely the most fun. The 4mm was the best duner out of the bunch. In the sand I always felt like I was either shifting up or down, never really felt like I was able to just cruise. The 4mm didn't have that problem. (both were set up identical, on same chassis)

Now I have a 4mm ported stock cylinder for the dunes and it runs right up there with most 4mil cubs. My 10mil cub is just for drag racing, but it finds its way out onto the dunes from time to time. I enjoy the stock cylinder ported 4mil more than the 4mm cub on the dunes. More midrange, but plenty up on top. I've got a friend with a stock stroke cub who rides with me a lot, hopefully he will chime in here.

Jared's right about having to kick through the gears a lot with a stock stroke. Either do that or do what I do..........liberal use of the clutch and just ride it wide open. There is absolutely no low end to mine, once you fall of off the pipe you have to either clutch it a bunch or kick down a gear to get it back up. But, the thing is one hell of a fun ride and I like being wide open most of the time so it works pretty good for me. All in all it's got all the power that they claim and runs like a drag port (which it basically is), no bottom end.

And I'll ride this thing anywhere. Dunes, dirt, trails, and hillclimbing. You just have to know how to keep it on the pipe and it rips like crazy. No matter what people say about them.
