202banshee Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Nuetral is very easy to get while cold. But after you get her good and warmed up it is a bitch to find. Anyone ever had this happen ???? Quote
91banshee Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 check your clutch adjustments , or it may be that your hub and presure plate are worn bad ,check the wear on them as well .also check your clutch springs and bolts , i had one break and it made it relese uneven . Quote
dajogejr Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Been a known banshee problem since the dawn of time... Get your shift star ground, it will help with shifting and finding Neutral... Quote
Snopczynski Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 (edited) How often do you change your oil? What oil do you use? Edited November 8, 2007 by Snopczynski Quote
section8 Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 yeah i was having the same problem. if you put it in nuetral as your coming to a stop it kinda slides in easier. dont know why but it seems to be easier  Quote
theshee Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Just kinda how banshees are. I have found that they do go in easier when you are rolling to a stop. My raptor goes in neutral really easy, but all the banshees I have had have been a little tricky. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 I just give mine a few revs and it falls in. Quote
Hilarious Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 I had this happen to me on my motorcycle in stop & go traffic. Turned out the clutch cable had stretched some. I would try adjusting that first, then go from there. Quote
Animalman294 Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 I agree with Dave on this one. I couldn't get my shee to hit nuetral for shit, whether I was reving it up, coming to a stop, cold, hot. I would have to shut it off and it would pop right in, and yes this has been a problem since they rolled off the assembly line in '87. I had boonman mod my star a few years back and now I can hit it any time I want................ Quote
2strokespirit Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Thata a common problem on the banshees, but it should not be that hard, check your clutch adjustments, another problem is if you have to much gearbox oil in, like way to much, sometimes I get banshees, if i service them there comes 2litres of oil out of the tranny. 202banshee Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 (edited) I was having problems getting the clutch to fully disengage when warm. I have adjusted several times and should be right. I finally bought new cable and lever. It disengages fine now only slight drag and can only tell if ya give a lil rev with it pulled in. I am running a 50W synthetic gear oil. Seems to work better then most I have tried. Shift star ?? Where is it and how much to grind ?? LOL Edited November 10, 2007 by 202banshee Quote
