Snopczynski Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 I heard a noise under my flywheel cover yesterday. Pulled it off and the rivets that mount the flywheel bell to the end cap are loose. It is a ricky stator flywheel. Anyone else seen this? Quote
trail rider Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 yup it did it too mine, except it was the stock flywheel, sounded like something was about to gernade under neither the cover. It did it to me when i was wide open down a road, but i road it for a few hours, cause we was chasing cows... ended up having to cut the fly wheel off Quote
Snopczynski Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 Oh my! Mine comes off, its just loose on the hub. Quote
moneybags Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 I had a RS flywheel do the same thing. Mine was only used for 5 hours befor it broke. I had a post about it in the product review section. It was like 4 pages back. Quote
jbooker82 Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Snoop yours is case #2 that I have herd of RS Flywheels doing this. I believe moneybags was the first. Did it mess anything up? and Was your flywheel lightened? Quote
Snopczynski Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 As far as I can tell everything is ok. It was lightened also. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 My RS did that too. Quote

Snopczynski Posted November 6, 2007 Author Report Posted November 6, 2007 man all this drama with ricky stator parts.i am gonna steer clear. The stock ones do it too! Quote
dajogejr Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 I had a RS Flywheel, had to weld a puller on to it to get it off, less than a year old. My 96 stocker had broken up magnets in it.... My RS stator went bad in less than a year as well. They warrantied it no questions asked.... Sad to say, but OEM ignition is the best stuff on these bikes. Quote
boonman Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 having machined several of these flywheels, I can attest that they are made of crap materials. Steel being the main thing. it machines like garbage. The rivits they use are sub par. There is a reason they are so cheap. using scrap metal for flywheels is not the way to do things. Quote
