Bansh-eman Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 you can use aircraft paint stripper. kinda makes a mess, and make sure you dont get it on youir skin cause it will et that shit up... or if you have access to sand blaster tape it all off and blast it Quote

XxMeltIcexX Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 bead blaster or sand blaster be the easiest. id fuckin pay someone to do it rather than use aircraft stripper.. ya man fuckin shit doesnt come off very easy, took me two days to strip my clutch cover lmao, never again.... Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 also using the stripper on the jugs can eat the cylinder walls up if it gets on them. Quote
fastrthnu Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 I used paint stipper on mine. Like the guy above said that paint is REALLY on there. with the clutch cover, I got most of it off with stipper and scotch brite pads and then used a pliable wire brush on a die grinder to finish. On my cylinders, I took it all down with my dremel with a 220 whick also took out the numbers and shrp edges,. then cleaned up the rest by hand with 320, then 400, then 600, then polished em. its best to go all the way to like 3000 to get a mirror chrome look though. If you just want the bare look, cover the machined areas mostly to keep out crap and have them blasted. It might cost a little, but it would be ALOT less ageerrrrrr :verymad: vating Quote
RUDEDAWG Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 After polishing cylinders, How would you keep them looking good? Clearcoat or someting? Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) Aircraft Paint remover will do the job no prob.. I can't find where I saved my pics but you can view them on this link, post #10 > http://forums.everything2stroke.com/genera...t=Paint+Removal Are you polishing or repainting the cylinders? I repainted my cylinders with a 1200 degree ceramic high temp. Edited October 29, 2007 by ClimbAnyHill Quote
