Penny's Banshee Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 My banshees footpeg hole has been stripped out about 10 times and now the holes is just huge I need to find a fix for this is there anyway i can fix this without having to weld them I have my shee powdercoated and I dont want to mess it up. any help with this would help thank you Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 At this point it needs to be drilled out, then have bungs welded in it and re-tapped. Quote
kawiking Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 check this out -- lol !!! i had the same problem.... now my frame has broke and been rewelded and looks like sh1t so you may not want to try this. i went and bought some allthread and ran all the way through the frame.. and then put pegs s on and threw on some nuts and washers. i guess i should have asked which ones were stripped.that will only work on the back one's. black sunshine Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 those bungs are big enough to drill and tap to the next size. Use loctite next time! Quote

Had to do the same thing on my 87...worked great tho Quote
Bancheez Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 You could always helicoil it. if installed correctly, a helicoil is stonger than tapped threads. Quote
dajogejr Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Both rear bolts on my old J Arm frame are drilled and tapped with a larger bolt hole. I'm sure you can find one large enough to drill/tap and make it work. I think mine are 1/2 20 bolts. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 at this point drilling and retapping is about the only option. dont go too big though. the rears are just a nut welded on the inside of the frame. its really a pretty shitty setup.. Quote
