13bturbofc Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 wats up.. i bought a 2000 banshee last weekend and it was setup for asphalt drags so they removed the headlights and who knows what else. ive looked at the wire diagrams and still cant quite see what all is needed to get the headlights workin again.. i did notice on the left side of the bike near the front of the gas tank there is a little black box like 2 inches long and 1 inch wide it has one bolt holding it to the frame and the wires are cut and theres no sign of them so i have no idea what that box is for..any info would be great so i know what i need to buy to get the lights workin and figure out what that box is. thanks Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 the little box your talking about is your TORS or your throttle over ride system. nothing to do with your lights... start looking at your wireing harness and see if they cut all the wires that would plug into your lights. there are green and yellow wires that go to the lights to control high and low beams. if they chopped them all the way back id say just buy a new hars and be done with it, for the work to make that one right wouldnt be worth it to me... you can get them off ebay or from guys on here ( NYUK , Minkia38 ) they buy bikes and strip them all the time they would have one. Bansh-eman Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 nope, in fact that is commonly the first thing that ppl remove when they get thier bike. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 do you have a on off switch for the lights on the handle bars?? also gonna need the voltage regulator that mounts in the back by the cdi box Quote
13bturbofc Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 i did buy a handle bar run/headlight switch but im not sure if it has the regulator what does it look like? and it does have the rear light hooked up and working so does that mean i do have the regulator? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 at the back of your bike by the pipes look under the frame. to the right there should be a small metal box. about an 2 x 2 in thats it Quote
13bturbofc Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 ok i looked and it does have the regulator..and i looked up front for wires and all i could see was like a 6 pin square conector that has a peice of wire shoved in it to jump 2 wires together is that the headlight plug? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 that sounds like it could be your key being bypassed. there is a plug for your light as well but i cant remember off the top of my head how many plugs it has. Quote
13bturbofc Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 yeah that might be what that is cause they took the stock run/light switch off and hooked up one of those kill switches that u attach a cord to your wrist so if you fall off it kills it..so i bet thats the plug for the stock run/light switch.. Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 theres a yellow wire that comes out of the stator harness, thats the power for the lights. It turns into a blue in the back. So, there is no stock kill switch/light switch pulfg in up by the gas tank? Quote
