Im in the garage now trying to remove it WITH OUT having to remove the pipe. I bot the nut off of the side by the pipe but its like impossible to get that long bolt out.

Does anyone have suggestions or does the pipe have to be removed so that I can bang on the end of the bolt to get it out. I already tried an air ratched on it as well and it just spins...

damn.

you can try clamping a pair of vice grips on the bolt head as tight as you can then pound on the grips to see if it will come out but it sounds like you might need to pull the pipe. i've actualy had to pry the tab's out and use a sawzall to cut the bolt's out of an upper a-arm before... hope it's not that far gone... good luck

I tried everything to get the S.O.B of a bolt out when i put my new front end on it was a PITA thats for sure....then said fuck it and pulled the pipes off and hit the sucker with a hammer and a small pole around the same diameter as the bolt and then it came out like cake.

yeah, do the vicegrip thing, or just remove the pipe, but dont hammer on the threads, you'll screw them up.

I have a brass punch that I use to bang everything out with anymore, I've galled to many threads, even having the nut on doesnt help with this cheap ass yamaha metal.

Cool thanks for the replies guys.

I have a punch... and im going to have to remove the damn pipes. Its okay though because I just picked up a 12 pack of Siera Nevada so I have some motivation for this lovely Friday evening. I hate taking those damn t5 pipe springs off. Ohh well I know it will come out when I can hit it strait on.

The way i take and put on the springs is with needle nose vise grips....work like a charm.

Yeah I made a tool a while ago. Took a cheap ass long flathead screwdriver and grinded a notch/deep hook on the very end of it. Its the same size as the spring and it works well. That is a good idea you have there as well thanks for the tip.

I managed to get the bolt out. Pipes off. SUCKS! Oh yeah, had to take the bumper off as well because the bolt would not slide out all the way because it hit the bumper bolt in the frame. Who would of thunk it.

Hahah yeah i forgot to tell you that the bumper had to come off...just to take ONE bolt out you have to rip the sucka apart...oh well atleast you got it done!
