shee4speed Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 While I was installing my clutch and tightening the nut to 65 ft lbs. the stupid mother f'n motion pro slipped and chipped the hub just a tad.Is this cool or is it screwed? Thanks. Also the locking tab is on one of the corners of the bolt. :: Quote
RoostRocket Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 the locking tab is fine on the corner if thats were it ends up i just bent mine so it was pushing against it good on either side of the nut corner. as for the chip in the hub cant help you with that. Quote
shee4speed Posted September 20, 2007 Author Report Posted September 20, 2007 Okay thanks! I don't know how much pressure if any is on the inner hub.It is a really small chip. Man this sucks ass. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 you dont need to take that thing to 65 foot lbs... just get it tight. i dont torque any of my bolt cept the head bolts... how big of a chunk are you talking about? can you get picts? Quote
shee4speed Posted September 20, 2007 Author Report Posted September 20, 2007 Dude your always to the resue. Here ya go. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 as long s you dont have a hairline that goes past that point you should be ok... its kinda hard to see in those picts... your not running a monster motor right? from what i see id still run it... Quote
00tbanshee Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 if you are unsure don't use it. you can get a new one from jeff at F.A.S.T for like 30 i think its pretty cheap Quote
shee4speed Posted September 20, 2007 Author Report Posted September 20, 2007 Its really a small chunk out of it. Maybe better safe than sorry! $30.00? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 yea they are 30 bucks...click here id just run it the way it is... doesnt look bad.. Quote
00tbanshee Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 (edited) thats what i say but its up to you.i have seen clutch baskets fly apart and go through the crank seal and in to the motor and screw the cylinders up.those cylinders you just got back from kevin don't think you want to screw them up.but not saying that would happen but there's always that chance Edited September 20, 2007 by 00tbanshee Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 i havent eve seen an inner come apart... iv only seen outters and flywheels... 30 bones isnt that much but its up to you... id just run that one unless there is more dmg that the pict isnt showing... although that isnt the best pict in the world to judge by either... shee4speed Posted September 20, 2007 Author Report Posted September 20, 2007 Sorry about the shit pics.My photo skills blow. Try this. The line on the side is a scratch. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 ahh its kinda hard to say... if your sure that line isnt a hairline fracture... id run it ... if your not possitive id spend the 30 and get a new... th gouge doesnt look bad its just that line on there id be worried about... shee4speed Posted September 20, 2007 Author Report Posted September 20, 2007 The line is a groove from the tool slipping. Its easier to see in prson but while its apart 30.00? Shit. Quote
