jayzx10r Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 It' hard to hold my beer after a long ride. Since it can't be me, I'll blame my bike!! My clutch pull is pretty tough...do you have 3 springs laying around?? Has anyone tried the more expensive model replacement clutch cable...is it worth the extra $? Actually, my chick can barely pull the clutch...trying to make it easier for her... I think she would prefer an automatic...like her preference in pistols  Jay. Quote

I'm running the FAST clutch, with all 6 heavy springs, but I got an E-Z pull lever, and perch from FAST Racing, and now it pulls just as easy, or easier than a stock clutch. I got the lever with the needle bearing in it, and I highly recommend it. It cost me around $40 for the perch, and lever, but don't quote me on that. You can check the FAST site, and get the prices. Yep...i agree... However, unless you're running big motor or aggressive, real aggressive port job, 3 of each should be fine... That EZ pull lever with ball bearings is the shit, however... Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 Jay, i wouldnt bother with the "expensive" cables... Polish has the breaded one on his bike and once they got close too the motor it caused the shit on the inside to unravel and mae his clutch almost impossible to pull... replaced it with a stocker and its been 0 problems... theres juts a few things that i will only use oem parts...this is one of them. hyperlite33 Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 If Dave I. can't find those springs Jay, I can ship you 3 stock ones for shipping only. Probably would be able to throw them in a padded envelope and a 3-4 stamps. Let me know! Quote

I probably should have been more specific.... I was thinking about the MotionPro cables...the LW vs. the CW model. The CW is a stock replacement with a Coil Wound housing...just like stock. The LW version is constructed a bit differently. The cable structure is wound longitudinally...the strands of wire are more parallel with the cable to reduce sponginess. Plus, the cable is encased in a PE (Teflon?) liner so I'd think it would slide easier under load. This is the one I had in mind when I said "the more expensive one"!! I can't believe you didn't follow me on that one!!!  Guess I should have asked: Has anyone tried the LW cable? Thanks, Jay. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 all those fancy cables do the same thing ovr time.. collect dirt and start to suck... just stick with the oem cables and clean them out every few months... yea the big purdy cable look nice but they do not function any better once they get dirty.. and lets face it they arent going to stay clean if it hits the dunes... samdust Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 i have the lsr clutch and its got all kinds of adjustments and it pulls so damn easy. it also doesnt need a full pull either. it doesnt have to be all the way back. u know what i mean. it wasnt that expensive either. im happy with it. jbooker82 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Has anyone tried the more expensive model replacement clutch cable...is it worth the extra $? Jay. I put one of those Motion Pro Terminator clutch cables on. It has a teflon or some kind of plastic coating on the inside to make it pull better. I dont know if It actually helps because I went from all 6 hd springs to all stock springs with a lockup, terminator clutch cable, and asv c5 lever all at once. Quote
