theshee Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 how much reliability would i lose with these mods? Not much... Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 I wouldn't run new pistons on a bike that hasnt even had any honing/bore work done to it. With 60 hours you are just fine, why are you rebuilding? Chances are the piston will not be within clearences of your std bore cylinder, if your getting new pistons get it done right and get them bored out/honed to the SPECIFIC pistons you have (ones in your hand). Your just asking for trouble IMO... Your crank is just fine, I wouldnt worry until you have race gas compression numbers.. Eric Quote

ClimbAnyHill Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 yeah i found a wiseco kit and it comes with pistons, rings, wrist pins, clips, wrist pin bearings, and top end gasket kit for 169.99 You can prob get away with a hone over the standard bore & run that kit you got. Honing will cost maybe $50 bux. Mind sharing where you found the nice priced top end kit? Thanks. Quote

flattrakker Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 (edited) why would you rebuild for no reason? not being cocky or anything just why would you spend the money? Edited September 12, 2007 by YamahaPowr95 Quote

Keep an eye on e-bay, the last piston kit I bought off of ebay for $64.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=180138480312 The one before that kit I paid about $110.00 with gaskets. Quote

That's some good deals! I've searched the bay before but no luck.. I guess I need to put more effort into it! Thanks for the inspiration! I'll hit the bay again!! Quote
