'04limited Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) ok guys heres the deal yesterday me and the wife went riding before we left i threw new plugs in both bikes when we got out there i noticed that her bike was smoking alot more than mine so i told her to get on it a lil to clear it up she did and the bike was running great just a little smokey. when we got home i pulled the plugs out of both bikes mine were a perfect tan color but hers were black like alot of oil/fuel on them the bikes have the exact same mods and jetting tr6 pipes, k&n pods, rickey stator adjustable timing plated set at +4 with the jetting set at 280 mains, stock pilots and needle on the 4th clip the only difference in the 2 bikes is that mine has the factory needles in the carbs and hers have the needles that came with the toomey jet kit. would just the needles make that much of a differance? ive also noticed that her bike has a tendancy to foul plugs once in a while? what do i do?. Thanks Tom. also forgot to mention that im at 5000 ft. elevation. Edited August 22, 2007 by '04limited Quote
shee4speed Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Prescott Valley?Cool.Maybe swap bikes and see if anything changes.Maybe shee needs to tear it up more.Worth a try. Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 The stock needles have five grooves and the Toomey needles have six grooves. I would move the Toomey needle to the fifth groove and see what happens. Do a plug chop on it and check the jetting. Plug Chop Quote
