samdust Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 hey guys i havent changed my tranny fluid in ummmm idk. never! ive had my shee a while i dont ride it that much but i ride it. my question is if i change out my fluid 1. how much do i buy i got 1 liter but i dont know if that enough. and 2. will it mess up my clutch? u know if u run ur tranny hard in ur truck for a long time then u change the fluid the detergents make the plates slip cause they are used to working off the bad fluid. point is if i change it will my clutch go out.i got the wet clutch stuff its in a purple bottle and maxima makes it i think. badassbanshee479 Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 it takes about 1 and a half quarts, and no you should be fine as long as you are putting a good name brand wet clutch style oil. I run maxima mtl 80w in my play bike and it works great!! Quote

I run maxima mtl 80w in my play bike and it works great!! i think the exact recommended amount is 1.6 qts...should be stamped on the side of the case near the fill hole...i like the honda hp oil in the red bottle...80/85 weight...was recommended by jeff at F.A.S.T. ....dbr Quote
jbooker82 Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 I run ethire Honda HP 80/85. or Bel Ray Gear Saver 80W. Quote

400rednEX Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 changing the fluid in an automatic transmission does not make them slip and go out, it's not changing the fluid until it's too late and already ruined that makes them go out. Quote
RagunCajun Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 (edited) I use the honda hp in the red bottle just because it has a pointed "top" that doesnt require me to have a funnel. There's also a marker on the side of the bottle. As for much to use, it's stamped by the dip stick and specified in you Clymer which every banshee owner should have.
