slow2_2 Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Hello, I just purchased some Koso 28mm carbs. which are just like the Keihin PWK's. The carbs. came with 140 main jet, 60 idle jet, and a 40 power jet. I am running FMF Fatties, stock bore with Prolite pistons, Weisco reeds, timing advanced at 4 degrees, 1/2" reed spacers, and a K&N. Are these jets a good place to start, or what should I start with. Thanks Quote
FredMW Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Couple of questions, what's your elevation and what's a power jet? Quote
slow2_2 Posted August 1, 2007 Author Report Posted August 1, 2007 Couple of questions, what's your elevation and what's a power jet? Elevation is 1000 ft. And a power jet prevents leaning out during extended full throttle running in 2-stroke engines. Here is some information on the carbs. http://dratv.com/allchrome28.html Thanks Quote
jbooker82 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Most People that run Keihin carbs run 158-150 main. And 45-48 pilot jet. You dont need those power jets. The only people that run those are the alachol people. Dont rely on that power jet to suply fuel. Jet the carbs first then use the power jet to add alittle fuel if you need it. Quote
