Ok i was out doing some trail riding this weekend and for most of the weekend it ran great, but all of a sudden it had no power band.I just figured it was a fouled plug so i changed the plugs twice and no change. It revs clean in neutral and starts first kick, the new top end is 5 hours old and compression is still the same as the last time i checked it perfect. The clutch does`nt seem to be slipping at all, every thing is normal except no power band.It can`t be jetting cause it ran perfect almost all weekend and the weather did`nt change at all.Tors was removed so that can`t be it either.I did refuel with new fuel that may have been mixed a little richer than i mixed the first batch, and i was riding in a little mud,but my airfilter is clean and i`ve never had a problem with running my fuel a litte rich .The plugs where a little black but not wet but they where all weekend.Im stumped, what do you guys think?

ok it sounds like u have a dirty air filter, i had a very similar problem and thought my air filter was clean, untill i decided to run it without any filters, then i found out they were clogged! so im not saying this will fix your bike, but its worth trying and not very hard, keep us posted,

Ya thats prolly the easiest place to start.

Check the exhaust is the air equally coming out of both? Sounds like you are only burning one cylinder. Check the filters you can run them down the street (paved) without the filters, make sure your carbs are tight, reeds could be broke, coil

First off you need to make sure exhaust comes out equally on both sides. If one side feels stronger, then its the carburators but you need to check first so I can tell you what to do.

If the exhaust is equal, the only thing I can think of is to make sure your parking brake isnt engaged. Sometimes the actual brakes on a banshee can be unhooked but the cables themselves still function and if you somehow engage the wireing the bike will idle but will run like a slug. When you try to ride only one cylinder will fire as sort of a warning that the brake is still on. You can either check the parking brake system or you can disconnect it by unpluging the connector by the radiator that u can access by taking off the radiator shround.

Ive had experience with both of these problems but if niether one is the case then its an engine problem.

...maybe a reed cracked  Im not much help if its the engine but hopefully this info. helps one way or the other.
